my opinion 

Mary Ellen Mark's works  was  focus on society and culture. through her pictures i can see the power of human nature. she shoot about mental patient, circus,whore and gypsy and so on. she into their life to know them and understand them. she said there is no secret, she express to people what she need to do. and let themselves make a decision.i think that is why she so famous in the world. because she respect what she shoot. although she was so closed the objection, she still could find beauty and unique in her work.

Edward Henry Weaton

Edward Henry Weaton 

was born March 25,1886.die in 1958

He began photographing at the age of sixteen .

Weaton’s first photographs captured the parks of Chicago and his aunt’s farm.

In 1923 weaton moved to Mexico City where he opened a photographc studio with his apprentice and lover Tina Modott

This object looks a body and fist. A bit wired. Its grey color like steel. but through his work i can feel power. it is a magic power。 this spirit have the penetrating power of intuition.

this is a twisted body . but the shadow is deft. it gives black and white color ，force ，and beauty to the possessor. through this work i can feel peaceful

I think Andy Warhol was an crazy guy. he had mental patient. so his work always be weird. The first i saw his work i felt some shock and afraid. Although his work so colorful , i see the chaste. He loved this word. He didn't care about anything. He just care about whatever he loved  so that his art is different from others.

1.topic:sea 

Look at those pictures. they all the sea. they look like the same, just shoot in different place. Using two rectangles puzzle together . But it looks peaceful. Make u clam down yourself.  Everything comes to zero.

2.topic:theater

This  group of pictures is about theater. All the theater using black and white color. Colors contrast of black and white outstanding the screen, to form a visual focus. But nothing happen on the screen, just white. why? I think photographer wants me to think. Thinking about the next time or last time what happen in this theater. Everything  is in my memory . it is an zen meaning.

3.other works

One shape----triangle as keen as razors. The first one uses shadow and the last one use reflection. one is black background , another is white background. But a  feeling of melancholy runs through his shoots. i don't know why. Maybe the color effect me. I think it is his style--gloomy but peaceful and serious.

4. do some research 

At last i did some research. i know this photographer lived in the survivors after two war world . 

Most of his neighbor went through two war world. When his was very young, he saw something about war. He saw the remaining ruins of two war world. He tried to think about it.
